Anytime Anywhere Meditation World Premiere

June 30–July 2, 2023

Anytime Anywhere Meditation is an essential new program that makes the practice of meditation accessible and meaningful. This seminar, the official launch of the program, will be led by Mingyur Rinpoche himself and will focus on the transformative effects of meditation.

With his well-known lively style, Rinpoche will share methods that allow us to reveal our innate qualities. He will show us that meditation isn't something rigid and that we don't have to change ourselves to be happy — we just need to discover what we already have inside of us.

World renowned figures from the world of meditation will also be present and will share anecdotes and scientific evidence highlighting the benefits of developing a practice.

FORUM 2019

Keynote, May 14, 2019, Cowles Center for Dance and the Performing Arts, Minneapolis

Organizations are building more transformational relationships with real, everyday donors. These connections are built on mutual respect, trust, and equal power. And it’s dramatically changing the way nonprofits and philanthropy interact.

Everywhere we look, every sector, every industry, and especially in the social sector there’s evidence that the old ways of doing things are crumbling. As damaging patterns behind traditional power dynamics that have guided institutional structures for the past centuries break, we can all feel the ground shaking. In philanthropy, nonprofits’ funding models are becoming more decentralized and more democratic than ever. As nonprofits better share financial and governance decision-making with the communities impacted by their work, this inversion of power and depth of meaningful relationships will continue to transform the sector.

At FORUM 19, we’ll take a close look at new approaches for the intersection of donor and nonprofit relationships. Uvinie Lubecki, founder and CEO of Leading Through Connection, will ground our conversation in her work focused on the necessity of mindfulness and compassion for how sector leaders bring fundamentally new methods of connection into their work. We’ll hear about national trends, dig into the neuroscience behind building meaningful relationships, and also look to local leaders who are reframing the connections between nonprofits and donors right here in Minnesota.

Wisdom 2.0 2018 conference

Feb 23rd, 2018 - 2:00 - 2:45 pm PST

Connection is authentically and meaningfully relating to others. It's the building of a bridge that allows for understanding to flow freely. It honors our shared humanity and interdependence. Everyone has the capacity for connection, but the ability to connect can and has to be learned. It does not come through simple tools and frameworks. It comes through inner work and practice.

General Assembly LEADERS WORKSHOP

May 31st, 2018 - 6:30 - 8:30 PST

There’s a predominant worldview that when we show up to work, we need to leave our humanity at home. As leaders, we work hard, sacrifice ourselves, and feel guilty when we take time off. The problem is, the way we treat ourselves is the lens by which we treat others. Without knowing how to extend compassion to oneself and people we work with, we are creating cultures that are leading to more stress and disengagement at work.

In this interactive workshop, you will:

  • Learn to develop awareness of how your thoughts and feelings impact your behavior while you're interacting with others

  • Learn practices to manage anxiety at work, as a form of self-compassion

  • Grapple with real-life scenarios and identify how you might extend compassion to others

UPSWELL LAB, SAN FRANCISCO

June 4th, 2018 - 12:30 - 4:30 PST

Giving advice feels rewarding when we can truly help others. The challenge is, we don’t always know how to give it. We can sometimes feel like we’re not capable of giving advice, misread what someone means, or jump to solutions when the other person doesn’t want any. The good news, everyone is capable of giving meaningful advice when you take the time to really connect with them.

Our friends at Leading Through Connection will teach you a different taking on both giving and receiving advice through a fun, interactive activity.

  • Learn practices to genuinely relate to people, even when it’s difficult

  • Have the opportunity to test practices for connection with other attendees

HIVERY INSPIRATION CIRCLE

June 28th, 2018

Leading in the modern world requires an ability to manage constant change and complexity while staying connected to your teams, colleagues, and customers. Learning how to harness connection, the ability to authentically and meaningfully relate with others, amidst a busy work schedule and stress can transform your leadership. Most leadership programs focus on frameworks and tools without addressing the underlying fears and assumptions that can hold you back from effectively connecting with others. In this session, we will introduce an approach that integrates mindfulness and compassion as foundations for interacting with and leading others. We will also share and discuss the challenges specific to women leaders who make up just 17% of executive leadership.

In this lunch session, we will discuss how to realistically care for yourself as a leader and trade resources and practices for genuine self-compassion.

DUKE FUQUA SCHOOL OF BUSINESS WORKSHOP

October 30th, 2018 in San Francisco, CA

How do you become the leader your people want you to be? The truth is, effective leadership is less technical and more relational. Traditional leadership development, however, is not enough to teach leaders to intentionally and actively relate to others. Uvinie Lubecki and Anna Kawar will do a workshop focused on mindfulness and compassion as key competencies for leaders to deepen their connection to the people they work with and lead. Upon completion of this workshop, you will leave with tools you can implement to transform your leadership.

A big thank you to Designit for hosting this workshop at your offices:
450 Sansome Street, 9th floor, San Francisco, California 94111
